Before you dive in
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser: the text you paste is sent to no server. Only the AI model is downloaded once, from our hosting located in Switzerland, then cached by your browser for later use.
Is the tool really free?
Yes. The Local PII Filter is free, with no account and no installation. It is even open source: its code is public on GitHub.
Is it enough to be compliant with the nFADP?
No, and this matters: the filter is an aid, not a compliance guarantee. No automated tool detects 100% of personal data, and nFADP compliance depends on your whole organisation (governance, contracts, security). See it as a useful first barrier, to be completed by a human review and an internal framework; our audit reviews your risks and your nFADP compliance.
How is it different from manual anonymisation?
Doing it by hand is slow and error-prone: across a long text, it is easy to miss a name, a date or a number. The tool spots personal data and masks it instantly: you save time and reduce oversights. A human review remains recommended.
